Happy snacks are made of cancer causing artificial coloring agents and petroleum products. But, was not petroleum the thing that belongs in the same group as cars? Is not it used in the production of oil and gas?
To your general disgust, things here are far from being happy. Yellow 5 and Red 40 are the most common food dyes, and these are made from petroleum! Moreover, researchers have confirmed that they can harm health to a miserable extent. According to the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA), ingestion actually remains under the ‘concern threshold.’

Experts say that artificial food colors can cause bed-wetting, ear infections, headaches, hypersensitivity, obesity, asthma, diabetes, eczema, mood swings, hyperactivity, sleep disturbances, risky behavior, ADD/ADHD, chromosomal damage, hives and even hypoglycemia.

This snack contains TBHQ from petroleum, and the fact that it is related to butane makes things even worse. Partially hydrogenated soybean, another ‘yummy’ ingredient, causes cellular dysfunction. Cancer causing artificial colors are the crème de la crème.
There are so many ‘fruit’ flavors and varieties, that one would go just crazy. Give your best to resist, because all of them contain artificial additives and colors. Most fruit snacks contain E127 or Erythrosine, a petroleum product, or Red 3, if you prefer it better.
Seeing one of these colorful chocolate candies coming to your mouth warms up your heart. Did we say ‘colorful?’ Here is a nice list for you. Blue 2, a petroleum product, that has shown to cause hyperactivity in children, brain tumor in lab rats, and a variety of abnormal cell development. Blue 1 triggers the development of malignant tumors. Red 40 is a serious threat to DNA. Yellow 6 may cause cancer. Yellow 5 is as dark as these. Artificial colors are based on petroleum, and cancer and hyperactivity are their usual companions.
Oh, these orange, cheesy snacks are marvelous! Or not? But, you do not get any cheese, it is just Yellow 6, a petroleum buddy. ‘Cheese’ in Cheetos contains methyl benzoate and ethyl methylphenidate as well.
5. Teddy grams
These are older than some of you. Teddy grams flooded the market in 1988, and you can find them in 5 different flavors. Poisons always come in small bottles, and the same applies to these little things. This snack is loaded with TBHQ, which is deadly and causes nausea, vomiting, ear ringing, delirium, and collapse.
When administrated to lab rats, the dreaded ingredient caused stomach cancer in rats, fragment DNA and damages to human lungs and umilical cells. Children may suffer from anxiety, restlessness, and intense symptoms of ADHD.
There are so many healthier alternatives out there. Eat organic fruits, carrots and celery. If you have some extra time, make yourself a nice batch of healthy granola bars and add some seeds in.
