3 Ways to Handle Disturbingly Negative Thoughts

We are all different, and it’s really hard to get along with everyone. There are also people who make your day a living hell regardless of whether they are your boss, a family member or your partner.

Positive thinking is really important, and it helps you stay on the bright side. But, this doesn’t mean that your mind will never be poisoned by negative thoughts. How do you handle this?

Negativity manifests without a warning, and you won’t notice it until it’s too late. It’s a disturbing force that strikes when you least expect it. You may be out for a lunch or in the middle of an important meeting.

At one point, your mind will start thinking about their flaws, unmatched socks or bad hair. If you are at the office, you will easily get the urge to argue with your boss. Yes, negative thoughts are dangerous, and they can definitely kill your romance.

In this article, we will give you three ways to handle negativity.

3 best ways to handle negative thoughts

1. Spontaneous and impulsive negativity is normal

Not everyone is eager to discuss the things that “exist” in their head. We all have a dark side. You may be a successful person with nice family life and great friends, but trust me, we all have a darker version of ourselves hiding inside us.

Ask yourself a few questions, and you will be surprised by all the things that come to your mind. Don’t worry. This is normal, and pretty much everyone has this darker side. That’s how we were designed.

Think of this situation. Here you are, standing while your boss gives you a promotion. In the next moment, he talks about all the things that need to be done in the next few months.

Two seconds later, you want to hit him in the face. Don’t worry, you will get used to this. Sometimes you will feel like punching a person, and all you have to do is say a little prayer and apologize for the violent thoughts.

You are a human being after all. Pretty much everyone gets these thoughts once in a while.

2. Thoughts will never be anything more than… thoughts

A thought is a small product of a neurotransmitter. Estimates show that you get thousands per hour. Your brain works every second of the day, remember? Some of the information comes up to the surface, demanding your conscious consideration and meaning.

Have you ever noticed that you focus on your negative thoughts and neglect the positive? Negative attachments keep you stuck with your inner angst. These are really strong, and people have hard time recognizing their inner negativity.

Your thoughts will only have the significance you decide to give them. Don’t take everything too seriously, because that’s the only way to get more choice about them.

3. There’s a solution to every problem/thought

Magic may not exist, but you can solve every problem really easily. First, address your inner issues. The ones that lie deep inside you. We are all imperfect, remember?

Address these issues, and your mind will be much more relaxed. You don’t have to battle every single thought, because you will end up being at war with yourself.

Where did it all start? It was probably at some point of your childhood. Let’s go back to the story of the person who resists any form of authority. In this case, the whole problem started in early childhood.

This person was probably having hard time accepting rules and demands, and all they wanted was revenge. But, the rebellion will only lead to resentment, and this person will end up hating their boss.

It’s time to realize that every person is a living human being with problems. Just like you. You don’t have to get a revenge at these people. Work on the deeper issues, and your mind won’t be racing all the time. You will keep everything under control.

Focus on the deeper issue

First, you need to recognize it. What’s your real problem? Give it a name, and deal with it. You will feel much better and healthier. Your mind will be quiet, and you won’t be burdened by your negative thoughts.

Every negative thought is linked to a root problem that lies unidentified deep inside you.
