New shoes often cause blisters which are not only painful and unpleasant, they can also spoil some of the most important events in your life.
Treat blisters efficiently using these natural remedies packed with anti-inflammatory and healing properties.
1. Aloe vera
Even though today you can find different products enriched with aloe vera extract, you may want to use it fresh for better results. Squeeze out the juice of the leaves and apply it on the blister. The pain will soon disappear.
2. St. John’s Wort
St. John’s Wort oil is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It will soothe the inflammation and stimulate the healing process.
3. Berberis vulgaris
If you already have an infection, Berberis vulgaris is the best remedy for you. Apply just a little of its juice, directly on the blister.
Onions have strong antibacterial properties. You can use it to treat insect stings or blisters. Apply half an onion on the blister and secure it with a bandage. Leave it overnight.
Garlic is amazingly efficient in treating warts and blisters. Just rub a garlic clove directly on the blister 3-4 times a day, until it heals completely.
If you ended up with nasty blisters after a long walk, just apply some vaseline. It will soothe the skin and stimulate the healing process.
7. Houseleek (Sempervivum tectorum)
This evergreen plant has thick, fleshy leaves, and people often grow it as a decorative plant. What you did not know is that this plant has strong antibacterial properties which make it efficient in treating blisters.
Make an ointment to relieve pain and heal wounds caused by blisters:
Ground 2-3 leaves and strain the juice using a gauze. Add equal part of almond oil and apply the ointment on the blister. Leave it on for a few minutes. Put a bandage on and repeat the same procedure for 3 nights in a row.
