Turmeric – Powerful Spice That Kills Cancer Cells and Treats Many Diseases

Turmeric is a spice from the ginger family. It is cultivated in Indonesia, China, India and other tropical regions. Fresh turmeric has an aromatic, burning-hot, mildly bitter and resinous flavor and dried turmeric develops an aroma of oranges and ginger, and it has hot, bitter and musky flavor.

A group of Irish researchers claims that the extract of the popular spice called curcumin may cause destruction of cancer cells in laboratory experiments. The findings of this study conducted in the Cork Cancer Research Center were published in the British Journal of Cancer.

Some previously conducted tests have already pointed out the potential use of curcumin in the treatment of arthritis and dementia. The latest findings suggest that turmeric extract starts destroying the cancer cells in the esophagus within 24 hours after the application.

Turmeric is used in the treatment of flatulence, so it is recommended for people who feel tired after consuming their meals or have problem with gases, bloating and constipation.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Adrian Gombart from the University of Oregon conducted a study and showed that regular consumption of turmeric may help in the protection against infections in the stomach and digestive tract.
